A grant of £3,400 was awarded to sponsor 20 young people to attend an ‘African Youth Arise’ residential weekend in August 2019.  The event was designed to tackle some of the challenges faced by young people of African descent living in the UK.

It was good to talk about topics that we don’t talk about at home. I didn’t feel judged, the mentors encouraged us to ask questions and made us feel safe.
